Workshop: Stories of World War II
More than 250 family and friends joined the writers and middle school partners to celebrate the completion of the books. The books were displayed, partners read excerpts, and writers with their memorabilia were showcased for guests. Most recently, the twenty individual stories have been packaged into one volume and are being presented by the group at a variety of venues: public libraries, exhibits at Senior Fairs, a community ethnic festival, and the Kansas Association of School Librarians. In addition to the twenty stories, the single book includes quotes from the middle school tech team, a history of the project, endorsement statements from grant providers, museum directors, college media expert, and a special one from Bob Dole, World War II veteran from Kansas. The book is being marketed to museum gift shops, heritage societies, and independent book stores.
